2026. június 2
Between May 25 and 30, 2026, a delegation from Semmelweis University—consisting of Dr. Attila Szabó, Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs, and our colleague and research group leader Dr. Krisztián Szigeti—paid an official visit to Shandong First Medical University (SDFMU) in Jinan, Shandong Province, China, to discuss the preparation of educational and research collaborations.
During the meetings—with a special emphasis on discussions with President Lu Lin—the primary focus was on potential joint training programs and research partnerships. Regarding educational cooperation, the parties reviewed possibilities for launching both short- and long-term training programs, as well as integrating undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD-level collaborations.
Additionally, preparatory talks began during the visit for a potential joint clinical and research initiative. This project centers on developing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures based on molecular and radiological imaging, with a particular focus on translational research and clinical applications.
The delegation also visited the world's largest Proton Therapy Center during their trip. In the picture, the director of the center explains how 150 patients receive proton therapy treatment at the facility daily.
