We are delighted to invite you to participate in a special one-day symposium entitled "Water: The Matrix of Life", celebrating the remarkable scientific career and enduring contributions of Dr. Gerald H. Pollack on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
The symposium will highlight the breadth of Jerry Pollack’s creative and influential work across multiple scientific domains, including:
- Mechanisms of muscle contraction
- The biophysics of water
- The structure and dynamics of the living cell
- Applications of interfacial water and related phenomena

Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required. Please confirm your participation by completing the registration form by July 22, 2025.
The symposium program includes coffee breaks and lunch, and a detailed agenda will be shared closer to the event date.

Jerry Pollack is a globally recognized scientist, dynamic speaker, and author, passionate about exploring the deeper truths of nature. He leads an active laboratory at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he conducts pioneering research. Dr. Pollack is the founding Editor-in-Chief of WATER: A Multidisciplinary Research Journal, Director of the Institute for Venture Science, and co-founder of 4th-Phase Inc. He also founded the Annual Conference on the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology of Water.
He has received numerous prestigious honors, including the first Emoto Peace Prize, the University of Washington’s highest honor—the Annual Faculty Lecturer Award—the Prigogine Medal for Thermodynamics, and the NIH Director’s Transformative Research Award.
Dr. Pollack is the author of award-winning books such as The Fourth Phase of Water (2013) and Cells, Gels, and the Engines of Life (2001).
