Lectures:  The participation is strongly suggested. The explanations and mathematical descriptions given on the lectures help to understand the material. Without understanding the preparation to the exam is very difficult and in many cases not successful. According to the rules the participation on the lectures will not be checked.

Laboratory practices.Students have to prepare for the laboratory practices by reading the corresponding chapter of the Laboratory Manual. Based on this one can ask questions for better understanding. One has to make lab. report about the measurements.
The condition for participation on the laboratory practices is that one has to pass the moodle test from the given topic before the practice. The test contains 10 questions and 50 % should be achieved. One can try the test no matter how many times until you pass.

Rules for lab reports :

1.      Every lab report is considered as a written test, where three types of grades can be given: „Accepted” „Correction needed” or „Not accepted” .

2.      The lab. report should be done by filling the excel sheet downloaded from the homepage of the department.

3.      The processing of data can be accepted only if it is based on the data measured by the student.

4.      Only the tasks listed in the homepage are required for a certain measurement. The lab report must be uploaded during the lab.

5.      The teacher will show, what is the mistake or missing part in the lab report.

Missed measurements

Participation in the practical lessons is compulsory. No more than three absences from practices are allowed for any reason, otherwise the semester will not be credited. The missed measurements should be done with another group during the 4 weeks cycle of laboratory practices if possible. (One should ask for the agreement of the teacher of own group and the other group.)
 

Midterm test

  • There will be one midterm during the semester
  • The midterm will take place during the laboratory practice in the moodle system
  • Tasks: Calculations, excel sheets, theoretical and practical questions related to laboratory practices
  • Material: laboratory practices between the first and 8th weeks of the second semester  and all the laboratory practices of the first semester + calculations
  • Date: biophysics practice on the 9th week (between Apr. 8 and 12)
  • Students can use Formula collection and calculator during the test.
  • Favors:
  • Students who achieve at least 75 % of points will get exemption from the moodle test on the final exam
  • If someone achieves 75% or more on the test it does not mean grade 5 for the exempted question and does not mean successful exam in any case, just the exam will be simplified.
  • In case of unsuccessful exam, the granted favor is lost. On the retake all the questions must be answered.
  • The midterm test cannot be repeated or taken later; it can be only attempted with the student’s own group during the timeframe of the laboratory practice.
  • The results of the test will be available on the 10th week in the presence of the lab supervisor

Conditions for signature:

1. Participation on at least 75 % of the practices, (in case of more than 3 absences the signature for the semester is denied.)
2. Acceptance of the lab. reports. If one has more than 3 „not accepted” lab. reports, the signature is denied. The lab reports must be uploaded to the website at the end of the practice.
3. Successful completion (min 50%) of the Moodle tests before the labs.

Exams

The exam is written and oral. The students get questions generated randomly both from laboratory practices and theory.

Our teaching program is evolving continuously. Focused on the general objective of meeting the requirements of the medical curriculum, the courses are also intended to provide specific medical physics and statistics training.
Todays students will be the physicians of the oncoming decades. In selecting and highlighting topics of study, the first viewpoint is scientific foresight: the knowledge should be conveyed which must be pertinent to ensure first-class professional competence while keeping abreast of the most recent development in the field of study. Our aim is not only the teaching of a specific body of knowledge but also the development of the exact scientific method and concrete problem-solving abilities.

Competition on Medical biophysics/Biophysicswill be held on May 2 (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. in Szent-Györgyi lecture hall. Its duration is 2 hours.

Condition for participation: grade 4 or 5 on the semifinal exam.
  Form of it: written test containing problems and theoretical questions.

   Favours of exam:

- The persons achieving the best results (winners of first, second and third places) will get some reward and they do not have to take any question at the final exam (they get 5).

 The winners will not be determined separately for the different faculties.
