1st academic year  second semester

Lectures: 2 hours/week

Laboratory practices: 4 hours/week

Credit: 5 (for one semester)

Tutor: Dr. István Voszka (phone: 4591500 ext: 60234)

Lectures:  The participation is strongly suggested. The explanations and mathematical descriptions given on the lectures help to understand the material. Without understanding the preparation to the exam is very difficult and in many cases not successful. According to the rules the participation on the lectures will not be checked.

Laboratory practices.Students have to prepare for the laboratory practices by reading the corresponding chapter of the Laboratory Manual. Based on this one can ask questions for better understanding. One has to make lab. report about the measurements.
From the second week the condition for participation on the laboratory practices is that one has to pass the moodle test from the given topic before the practice. The test contains 10 questions and 50 % should be achieved. One can try the test no matter how many times until you pass.

The order of laboratory practices can be found here:

http://biofiz.semmelweis.hu/upload/file/gyakre_2020t.pdf

The timetable of the Department can be downloaded here http://biofiz.semmelweis.hu/upload/file/orarend_2020t_jan22.pdf

Rules for lab reports :

1.      Every lab report is considered as a written test, where three types of grades can be given: „Accepted” „Correction needed” or „Not accepted” .

2.      The lab. report should be done by filling the excel sheet downloaded from the homepage of the department.

3.      The processing of data can be accepted only if it is based on the data measured by the student.

4.      Only the tasks listed in the homepage are required for a certain measurement. The lab report must be uploaded during the lab.

5.      The teacher will show, what is the mistake or missing part in the lab report.

The practical grade is given based on the followings:

- grade of 3 tests during the semester (after each measurement cycle 5 questions written test in 30 minutes). In case of absence it can be done orally at the teacher of the group.

- evaluation of lab. reports. (If one has more than 3 "Not accepted" lab. reports, the signature is denied.)

- quality of work on the laboratory practices.

Missed measurements

Participation in the practical lessons is compulsory. No more than three absences from practices are allowed for any reason, otherwise the semester will not be credited. The missed measurements should be done with another group during the 4 weeks cycle of laboratory practices if possible. (One should ask for the agreement of the teacher of own group and the other group.)

Conditions for signature:

1. At least 50 points in the test in Physical bases of biophysics.
2. Participation on at least 75 % of the practices, (in case of more than 3 absences the signature for the semester is denied.)
3. The practice grade should be at least 2.

In very special cases of more than 3 absences just the head of the Department can make a decision about  the exceptional signature.

Exams

The exam statrts with a written test. If the result is below 50 %, the student fail. If the result is between 50 and 60 %, the grade is 2. Above 60 % one can go to the oral exam for a better grade.

Formula collection can be used on the exams. It can be downloaded here:

A tantárgy feladata az orvosképzés céljainak megvalósításában

Our teaching program is evolving continuously. Focused on the general objective of meeting the requirements of the medical curriculum, the courses are also intended to provide specific medical physics and statistics training.
Todays students will be the physicians of the oncoming decades. In selecting and highlighting topics of study, the first viewpoint is scientific foresight: the knowledge should be conveyed which must be pertinent to ensure first-class professional competence while keeping abreast of the most recent development in the field of study. Our aim is not only the teaching of a specific body of knowledge but also the development of the exact scientific method and concrete problem-solving abilities.

Rules of the online exam:

1.     Only one device can be used for the exam. This device is preferably a computer or if it is not available, one tablet or one smartphone. It is your responsibility that the device has a suitable internet connection, video and audio input. In case of disconnecting from zoom during the exam, it is considered as the student did not attend.

2.      The camera must be switched on during the whole exam. Headphones or earphones are not allowed for the students during the exam.

3.      Sharing the desktop is obligatory during the whole exam. Sharing only a window instead of the desktop is not allowed. Besides the zoom application, only the formula collection found at the link below can be opened.

formula collection

Only this pdf version of the formula collection is allowed, the printed version is forbidden.

4.      Your face, chest, and hands must be visible on the camera during the whole exam.

5.       You must only have a blank white paper and a pen in front of you during the exam. These should be shown to the camera at the beginning of the exam.

6.     You must show your picture ID registered by the English Secretariat to the camera at the beginning of the exam.

The exam is oral, you have to answer the questions without preparation time.  You will get lab-related questions and theoretical questions, that are equally selected from both semesters. Beyond these, the examiners can ask further questions too.

The exams will be recorded and saved for 3 days.

On the day of the exam each committee composed of two examiners will create separate zoom meetings. On the morning of the exam day the students will be assigned to an exam committee. The assignments will be posted on our webpage, where the approximate starting time (Budapest local time), and the zoom meeting ID of the committees will be presented for each Neptun code.

According to the directive of the Rector and according to the Neptun message, you got in July the exams between Aug. 25 and Sept.2 will be in the student laboratories of the department. The way of exam will be the same as in May and June. The exams start at the time written in the Neptun. One must wear mask during the exam.
