Medical biophysics 2. 2015-2016
Leírás
Általános információk
Compulsory subject 1st year 2nd semester
2 hours lecture/week + 2 hours practice/week
Lecture: Thursday 10:40-12:20 Szent-Györgyi lecture hall
credit: 4
Tutor: Dr. István Voszka (phone: 459-1500/60211)
Weekly tests:
At the beginning of each practical lesson (starting from the second week) students have to write a short (15 min.) test containing questions from the previous and the actual measurements. If one has no absence from the medical biophysics practices, the worst three tests are not taken into account. In case of one absence the worst two, in case of two absences the worst one test is not taken into account. For those students, whose average result of tests taken into account does not reach 40%, the signature for acceptance of the semester should be denied.
The correct answers for the tests done by all the groups can be seen with the help of the teacher of the group.
The missed weekly test can be written during the given week with an other group (together with doing the missed measurement with the same group) if the teacher of the group accepts the student. One can do the missed measurement within the 4 weeks cycle, but the test can not be written during the following weeks.
Further conditions for signature:
1.) Participation on at least 75 % of the practices, (in case of more than 3 absences the signature for the semester is denied.) The lab reports must be given to the tutor the week after the measurement.
2. ) The laboratory reports for the measurements should be accepted (in case of more than 3 unaccepted laboratory reports the signature for the semester is denied.)
The form for the lab report can be downloaded here:
http://biofiz.semmelweis.hu/upload/file/Lab_Report_1_2.pdf
The tasks for the acceptance of lab reports are listed here:
http://biofiz.semmelweis.hu/upload/file/lab_report_minimum_requirements_II(1).pdf
After the semester there is final exam from the material of both semesters (written test + oral). One has to achieve at least 50% of the possible points on the written (computer) part in order to pass. The written test will contain 40 questions and it should be answered in 50 minutes. The test will not contain open questions. The student whose average of weekly tests is at least 75 % can get exemption from the written test. (Instead of the first semester midterms the result of semifinal exam can be considered if it is better). 4 is considered as 75% and 5 is considered as 85%). The exemption is valid only for the first exam. The oral part contains two theoretical question and one practice question. Failure is possible also on the oral part.

REQUIREMENTS
Participation in the practical lessons is compulsory. No more than three absences from practices are allowed for any reason, otherwise the semester will not be credited. Missed sessions must be reported to the teacher the week after.
Students must write a lab. report for each measurement. The registration card is signed only when the report is acceptable. The report is due two weeks after the measurement. At the final exam time all students must show their collection of reports to the examiner.
Assessing the students knowledge
At the end of the second semester we organize a competition. The condition for participation: the average result of weekly tests is at least 65%. (Instead of the first semester midterms the result of semifinal exam can be considered if it is better)
A tantárgy feladata az orvosképzés céljainak megvalósításában
Our teaching program is evolving continuously. Focused on the general objective of meeting the requirements of the medical curriculum, the courses are also intended to provide specific medical biophysics training.
Todays students will be the physicians of the oncoming decades. In selecting and highlighting topics of study, the first viewpoint is scientific foresight: the knowledge should be conveyed which must be pertinent to ensure first-class professional competence while keeping abreast of the most recent development in the field of study. Our aim is not only the teaching of a specific body of knowledge but also the development of the exact scientific method and concrete problem-solving abilities.
