Exemption

Students who have already studied Medical Biophysics in some form (or equivalent subject), they can request the acceptance of the subject. The application must be submitted on the 2nd day before the first week of education must be submitted to the person in charge of studies (unless the subject is taught at Semmewleis University - e.g. another faculty - he studied, because then the support of the Institute is not needed), who can support this. This must be accompanied by a certificate proving the mastery of the subject, or an authentic one copy and the detailed course description. If the topic is at least 75% is the same as here, if the student studied the subject at another Hungarian university, then we support the request. If you want the subject based on a degree subject at a foreign university to be accepted, then in order to check the actual knowledge, we will write a test for the exemption with applicants, which takes place at the beginning of the 2nd teaching week. Based on this result, we decide a request for support. The application for the admission of the subject with the opinion of the Institute a It must be submitted to the Study Committee (through the Study Department), which decides a on the acceptance or rejection of an application. (The application is available for download tomorrow at the Faculty for documents). After the beginning of the educational period, the student can request an exemption until the end of the 1st week. the object under conditions similar to the above. In the case of support (which for the previous we judge similarly) we give the student the recommended ticket. The attached sample test shows the type of questions that may be written, the actual test is 40 contains a question.

 

Laboratory practices

Students have to prepare for the laboratory practices by reading the corresponding chapter of the Laboratory Manual

Rules for lab reports :

1.      Every lab report is considered as a written test, where three types of grades can be given: „Accepted” „Correction needed” or „Not accepted” .

2.      The lab. report should be done by filling the excel sheet downloaded from the homepage of the department, or form the bifilab service.

3.      The processing of data can be accepted only if it is based on the data measured by the student.

4.      Only the tasks listed in the homepage are required for a certain measurement. The lab report must be uploaded during the lab.

5.      The teacher will show, what is the mistake or missing part in the lab report, but only the first upload will be evaluated, there is no need to re-upload any lab report.

6.      The successful completion (min. 50%) of the Moodle test before the lab. The test can be attempted any time during the week before the lab, from anywhere.

we do not control the attendace of the lectures, but for a successful exam it is strongly advised to participate.

 

Missed measurements

Participation in the practical lessons is compulsory. No more than three absences from practices are allowed for any reason, otherwise the semester will not be credited. The missed measurements should be done with another group during the 4 weeks cycle of laboratory practices if possible. (One should ask for a written permission of the teachers of the own group and the other group, where the re-take of the lab will take place.)

Conditions for signature

1. At least 50 points in the test in Mathematical and physical bases of medical biophysics.
2. Participation on, successful Moodle test, and accepted uploaded lab report for at least 75 % of the practices, (in case of more than 3 absences the signature for the semester is denied.)
3. Acceptance of the lab. reports. If one has more than 3 „not accepted” lab. reports, the signature is denied. The lab reports must be uploaded to the website at the end of the practice.

4. Successful completion (min 50%) of the Moodle tests before the labs.

Midterm test

  • During the semester, in the 11th week, at the beginning of the practice, we take a 20-25 minute knowledge test. Of this questions for the weekly preparedness test questions, the calculation questions issued during the year tasks, as well as questions similar to the evaluation of the minutes. One for the latter dataset must be downloaded and analyzed. ATTENTION! An exam discount can be obtained based on the test result: those who score at least 60% achieves, those who score 85% are exempted from the calculation task in the exam, they are exempted from the practical from both evaluation and calculation tasks.

Exams

The exam is oral. With the help of a computer, we will draw questions from the set of items issued: 1 practical evaluation, 1 calculation, 1 theoretical one for practice and 6 for theory we ask a theoretical question. The student receives all 9 questions at the same time and they are short after preparation (20 minutes or until the previous student answers), the oral exam begins in order of questions.

We call the attention that we do not give permission to take Medical biophysics II. without passing Medical biophysics I.

Our teaching program is evolving continuously. Focused on the general objective of meeting the requirements of the medical curriculum, the courses are also intended to provide specific medical biophysics training.
Today's students will be the physicians of the oncoming decades. In selecting and highlighting topics of study, the first viewpoint is scientific foresight: the knowledge should be conveyed which must be pertinent to ensure first-class professional competence while keeping abreast of the most recent development in the field of study. Our aim is not only the teaching of a specific body of knowledge but also the development of the exact scientific method and concrete problem-solving abilities.

The exam is oral. The theoretical part of all labs included in the program of the semester (even those missing due to the educational breaks) is included in the material of the colloquium and examination. The absence of the stuendt, but even the official educational break does not entitle the student to not know the material of the lab. You need to know the theoretical background and data processing of all of the labs.

Everybody should prepare an ID card to the exam. In the absence of ID card the exam can not be started. We call your attention, that during the exams calculator with max. 2 lines display only.

We call your attention, that there is no possibility to increase the number of exam days or places during the exam period, since we teach students on 3 faculties and 3 languages.
