Laboratory practices
Students have to prepare for the laboratory practices by reading the corresponding chapter of the Laboratory Manual
From the second week the condition for participation on the laboratory practices is that one has to pass the moodle test from the given topic before the practice. The test contains 10 questions and 50 % should be achieved. One can try the test no matter how many times until you pass.
The form for the lab report that can be used in case of error in the network can be downloaded here:
The schedule of laboratory practices can be found here:
http://biofiz.semmelweis.hu/upload/file/gyakre_2020t.pdf
Rules for lab reports :
1. Every lab report is considered as a written test, where three types of grades can be given: „Accepted” „Correction needed” or „Not accepted” .
2. The lab. report should be done by filling the excel sheet downloaded from the homepage of the department.
3. The processing of data can be accepted only if it is based on the data measured by the student.
4. Only the tasks listed in the homepage are required for a certain measurement. The lab report must be uploaded during the lab.
5. The teacher will show, what is the mistake or missing part in the lab report.
Missed measurements
Participation in the practical lessons is compulsory. No more than three absences from practices are allowed for any reason, otherwise the semester will not be credited. The missed measurements should be done with another group during the 4 weeks cycle of laboratory practices if possible. (One should ask for the agreement of the teacher of own group and the other group.)
The timetable of the Department can be downloaded here: http://biofiz.semmelweis.hu/upload/file/orarend_2020t_jan22.pdf
Students must write a lab. report for each measurement in excel. The file to be filled can be downloaded from the homepage of the Department. The students should prepare for the measurement by reading the related chapter of the laboratory manual.
In case if one has more than three “Not accepted” lab reports the signature for the semester is denied.
Conditions for signature
1. Participation on at least 75 % of the practices, (in case of more than 3 absences the signature for the semester is denied.)
2. Acceptance of the lab. reports. If one has more than 3 „not accepted” lab. reports, the signature is denied. The lab reports must be uploaded to the website at the end of the practice.

In very special cases of more than 3 absences, just the head of the Department can make a decision about the exceptional signature.
Exams
The exam is oral. First, the student takes 2 calculations and a practice question. The first examiner checks the calculations (acceptable or not) and gives a grade for the practice question. The data given to the practice should be processed in excel. For this you will not get preformed table, just you have to open the excel and write the data into it. If the grade is better, than 1, the student can take 2 theoretical questions, which are asked by the second examiner and will get a grade to both. The final grade is the average of these 3 parts if all are better than 1. The grade is rounded up or down according to the decision of the second examiner. if for one part the student gets 1,5 we do not calculate the average, but the final grade can be max. 2. If any of the grades is 1, the final grade will be 1.
Formula collection can be used on the exams. It can be downloaded here: Formula Collection
We call the attention that we do not give permission to take Medical biophysics II. without passing Medical biophysics I.
A tantárgy feladata az orvosképzés céljainak megvalósításában
Our teaching program is evolving continuously. Focused on the general objective of meeting the requirements of the medical curriculum, the courses are also intended to provide specific medical biophysics training.
Todays students will be the physicians of the oncoming decades. In selecting and highlighting topics of study, the first viewpoint is scientific foresight: the knowledge should be conveyed which must be pertinent to ensure first-class professional competence while keeping abreast of the most recent development in the field of study. Our aim is not only the teaching of a specific body of knowledge but also the development of the exact scientific method and concrete problem-solving abilities.

Rules of the online exam:
1. Only one device can be used for the exam. This device is preferably a computer or if it is not available, one tablet or one smartphone. It is your responsibility that the device has a suitable internet connection, video and audio input. In case of disconnecting from zoom during the exam, it is considered as the student did not attend.
2. The camera must be switched on during the whole exam. Headphones or earphones are not allowed for the students during the exam.
3. Sharing the desktop is obligatory during the whole exam. Sharing only a window instead of the desktop is not allowed. Besides the zoom application, only the formula collection found at the link below can be opened.
Only this pdf version of the formula collection is allowed, the printed version is forbidden.
4. Your face, chest, and hands must be visible on the camera during the whole exam.
5. You must only have a blank white paper and a pen in front of you during the exam. These should be shown to the camera at the beginning of the exam.
6. You must show your picture ID registered by the English Secretariat to the camera at the beginning of the exam.
The exam is oral, where you will receive 10 randomly generated questions selected from the the topic list. The questions will appear one by one and you have to answer them without preparation time. The computer will randomly choose 4 lab-related questions and 6 theoretical questions, that are equally selected from both semesters. Beyond these, the examiners can ask further questions too.
The exams will be recorded and saved for 3 days.
On the day of the exam each committee composed of two examiners will create separate zoom meetings. On the morning of the exam day the students will be assigned randomly to these exam committees. The assignments will be posted on our webpage, where the approximate starting time (Budapest local time), and the zoom meeting ID of the committees will be presented for each Neptun code.
According to the directive of the Rector and according to the Neptun message, you got in July the exams between Aug. 25 and Sept.2 will be in the student laboratories of the department. The way of exam will be the same as in May and June. The exams start at the time written in the Neptun. One must wear mask during the exam.
